Joanna Raven, RGN, RM, MCommH, PhD
Joanna Raven, RGN, RM, MCommH, PhD, is a Lecturer in Health Systems in the Department for international Public Health at LSTM and a member of the Gender and Health Group.
Joanna is a nurse and midwife and has a PhD in health systems research. She has over 16 years of international experience.
Her research interests and experience focus on qualitative and mixed methods research on quality of care, human resources, health systems, gender and equity and ethics with a particular emphasis on maternal health. She has worked collaboratively in designing and implementing mixed methods research projects on maternal and newborn health, health systems, human resources, and capacity development in Africa and Asia.
Joanna’s current research focus and grants are: human resources, health systems and post conflict contexts ReBUILD); human resource management (PERFORM); maternal health and quality of care (MATIND).
